Looks like our Los Angeles Neighborhoods Map has been approved by the team over atĀ LAist:

Leave it to a pair of Ohioans to give us a fresh look at Los Angeles, cartographically speaking. The map-making team of Jen Adrion and Omar Noory, under the bannerĀ These Are Things, launched their project to create simple and modern world maps to “help [them] chart [their] future travels” in 2009. Today they dropped us a note to say they’ve finished their map of Los Angeles.

The map is part of their series of their favorite US cities (or, in the case of NYC, boroughs)–putting our fair City of Angels in the company of Manhattan, Brooklyn, San Francisco, Chicago, Washington DC, and their hometown of Columbus.

Each map is silkscreened by hand and comes in two sizes. Shall we discuss the philosophy–if any–of the selection of which cities or neighborhoods within the county ranked a larger font, or just take a contented look at their lovely graphic representation of our messy, sprawling grid? (We vote for the latter.)
